Yagami talks to Sugiura about Okubo who asks him to tell Okubo when he gets out he wants to visit Emi's grave and asserts they can't let him get executed, Yagami visits Okubo and tells him about Sugiura giving Okubo hope that he won't die branded as a murderer before Yagami leaves to talk to Sugiura who directs him to Genda's where Izumida managed to get Ichinose to testify in the trial and suggests bringing Hamura in to testify but Yagami doubts it giving that he's still on the and didn't show up at Matsugane's funeral, Kaito proposes getting Kuroiwa to confess until Saori reminds him of the beating he took last time but just then Mafuyu calls Yagami saying the police are raiding L' Amant as a character assassination against Ayabe prompting Izumida to make tracks.

Yagami and Kaito head to the Casino where they reveal to Morita they know what happened to his family he in turn tells them the whole story about his family and admits he was brought into the AD-9 conspiracy not long after Shintani was killed and does feel guilt until Yagami brings up how he broke the and how Okubo, Emi and Ayabe are suffering for it angering Morita until Kuroiwa comes in challenging them to fight leading Yagami to gaining the upper hand until he prepares to shoot him but Morita intervenes telling them leave and see Higashi with the Matsugane Family outside.

Yagami also sees Hoshino who called Higashi over and apologizes for how he acted back at Kido's office also seeing Genda, Saori, the horseplayer detective and Hattori as well as a man wearing a black raincoat who gives chase causing Yagami and Kaito to go after him, a month later Yagami throws on his lawyer's badge and heads to the courtroom where he grills Ichinose about AD-9 and has evidence to back it up which he got from the man in the raincoat who was Hamura who was left feeling remorseful for what happened to Matsugane and intends to help Yagami avenge his death by handing over a recording of Ichinose signing off on Shintani's death also appearing in court revealing Kido was up next and Morita has been arrested for abuse of power.

However Ichinose signals Ishimatsu to make a call while leaving causing Kaito, Higashi, and Sugiura to go after him forcing Yagami to offload the trial on Hoshino who gains confidence from Soari and finds Kaito restraining Ishimatsu saying he told his boys to eliminate the Mole forcing the group to go after Kuroiwa, Mafuyu mentions there was a shooting in Theater Square and suspects Kuroiwa was involved, the others push through the Ministry of Health bums again before reaching the shooting deducing Kuroiwa killed them before they could and learn from one of them that Kuroiwa is on his way to the ADDC to likely kill Shono and if that happens the case will go cold and Okubo will be done for forcing them to head to the ADDC.
