Описание к видео Devil Slayer [ikorea's Get Creative Event]

Long description is long! How I made the Devil Slayer is down below!

Here is my entry to the event. It is a Devil Slayer, or formerly known as the Crow Scythe.

It was pretty tough to make! The blade is a tad smaller than what it should be, but because it was only made out of cardboard, getting the separate pieces to stay together was hard, even with that size blade. Getting a larger blade to stay up just wasn't possibly with these materials.
How I made it:

I cut all the pieces out of cardboard. The silver pieces actually pop up off of it and aren't just painted on there. I glued the designs onto the actual pieces of cardboard. I had to cut two of each piece, for both sides, since this isn't flat. I put Styrofoam between each of the pieces that matched and glued and taped them together.
The chain is actually just ordinary pipe-cleaners, for crafts and such. I wasn't able to find an actual chain that was long enough for this project, but the pipe-cleaners did the trick nicely.

Next, I used paper-mache to put the pieces together, wrapping it over the tops and bottoms so you wouldn't be able to see the inside of it. After the paper-mache had dried, I had cut holes into the spots where the pieces connected, since I made each piece separate, IE, the blade was one part, the top half was another part, etc.

After putting the pieces together with lots of glue, I began painting. I added three coats of acrylic paint to each part. The pieces on the end of the pole I had used hotglue to get them to stick. That was probably the most tricky part.

After painting and drying it, I glued on the little black gems, which is actually just modeling clay. I sprayed the entire thing down with a Lacquer finish, which gives it the shiny effect.

After spraying it down, I attached it to the pole, which is just an ordinary snow-shovel pole, and hot glued it on, which to my surprise, it stuck!

The last picture in the video is for comparison, to show you how large the scythe actually is, compared to a 2-liter bottle of Coke.

I didn't know about this event until after I had almost finished this project. Thanks to those who told me about it!

My in-game name is Fanghimura, from the Mari server, as you could tell in the sign in the video.

Special thanks to my friend Doujin who helped me create the video!
