In this video Dr. Aniketh Venkataram, renowned cosmetic plastic surgeon speaks about how eyebags can be treated. He starts off by defining eye bags and how they form on the face. Eye bags are formed when there is an increase in orbital fat and a decrease in cheek fat. This results in the fat under the eyes to bulge out.
There are multiple methods ranging from lasers and microneedling along with radio frequency to Accutite a skin tightening device, and then lastly, there is eye bag surgery, also known as blepharoplasty.
Next, Dr. Aniketh speaks of how blepharoplasty surgery is performed. Fat is extracted from the area under the eyes and there is also fat grafting done at the ridge area of the eye bag to make the area even.
Dr. Aniketh then states that blepharoplasty does not affect the eyes or vision, as it’s a surgery that does not involve the eye ball at all. He also talks about how long it would take for the area to heal after surgery. Immediately after the surgery there could be swelling, there could be bruising or redness in the area, and overall it may take a few weeks for the area to completely heal from the surgery.
