Small Pond is a whimsical musing on nostalgia, ambition and coming-of-age, and my first original song (first of many maybe?). A straightforward, gentle tune (ballad-esque?), that feels musical theatre inspired, orchestrated for a small ensemble of Vocals, Accoustic Guitar, Bass, Strings, Drums.

The Challenge: To Write and Record an Original Song, Each Month, For a Year

This series will follow the journey of a classically trained musician attempting songwriting for the first-time. I'll be wrestling with writing lyrics, contemplating chord progression and scuffling with storytelling in sung form. Each episode I'll document the creative development and music production/recording process and share my musings and learnings as we go. With the goal of an original song, produced at the end of each month.
Will I keep my composure or will blind ambition get the best of me...
