The name, which means Society of Friends of the Neighborhoods of Alfândega Street, already gives us a clue about its location and its importance to the local economy. SAARA is a veritable street market, a labyrinth of over 600 shops selling everything from clothing to handicrafts, toys, costumes, and countless other products at affordable prices. After all this exploring, a break is more than deserved. We stopped at the iconic CHIC's Pastelaria to try a fresh, crispy pastel, a tradition for those who have frequented the area for years. This type of snack is an essential part of the Brazilian cultural experience.

Another innovation that has transformed the region is the VLT (Light Rail Vehicle). Modern transportation not only facilitates access to the city center, but also brings a new dynamic, connecting port and historic areas, making exploring downtown Rio even more practical and enjoyable.
