Here's what the late Joel Schumacher's proposed take on a modern third remake of the 1937 Technicolor romantic drama "A Star Is Born" (2002) could've been made and the opening logos should've looked like this!





The attempt by Warner Bros. Pictures to get a third remake of the 1937 Technicolor romantic drama A Star Is Born off the ground was a lengthy endeavor, with directors such as Oliver Stone (as well as to produce with Dan Halsted through Illusion Entertainment Group) and Clint Eastwood; stars such as Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Paul Walker, and Christian Bale; and singers such as Beyoncé, Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, and Alicia Keys all either attached or rumored to be involved with the project over the years. One of the great what-ifs of the development process was a version that was to have been directed by the late Joel Schumacher, with a script initially penned by Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson and revised by the likes of Reggie Rock Bythewood, Christine Roum, and Ann Peacock. Schumacher's take on the material was to have starred none other than Will Smith in the leading role, as well as producing with James Lassiter through Overbrook Entertainment, and Jennifer Lopez as the titular star. Both actors were enthusiastic about the idea, with Smith expressing interest in the film incorporating the Latin roots of Lopez's music as a means of differentiating it from prior versions. Ultimately though, this iteration would never come to be.
