The tiger is the most charismatic animal in the world, but by the 1970s its population dropped to below two thousand; and it was highly endangered in India. In 1973, Project Tiger was launched with the aim of saving this striped big cat and 50 years later India has almost four thousand tigers. So one can state with certainty that Project Tiger is one of the world’s most successful conservation projects.

To celebrate “50 Years of Project Tiger”, Bob Rupani travelled to the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve and explored this scenic forest with Retd Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Vinay Luthra, and wildlife photographer and author Diinesh Kumble. Their visits into the jungle and conversations about tiger conservation are both educative and enthralling. So come join us in – Celebrating 50 Years of Project Tiger.
