Eligibility and Admission Process:
Admission is governed by UGC Regulation 2022 and its amendments. Candidates are advised to apply only if they meet the eligibility requirements. The admission will be based on three categories:

Category 1: Eligible for PhD with JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor.
Category 2: Eligible for PhD without JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor.
Category 3: Eligible for PhD program only, not for JRF or Assistant Professor appointment.

JRF-qualified students will be admitted based on an interview. For candidates in Categories 2 and 3, the admission will be based on a combined merit of NET marks and interview/viva voce marks, with a 70% weightage for test scores and 30% weightage for the interview.

Arts: Drawing and Painting, English, Hindi, Music, Persian, Philosophy, Sanskrit, and Urdu.

Social Science: Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Defence and Strategic Studies, History, Geography, and Political Science.

Science: Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Geology, Maths, Statistics, and Physics.

Life Science: Aquaculture, Botany, Biotechnology, Bioscience, Environmental Science, Genetics, Microbiology, and Zoology.

Other Faculties: Commerce, Management, Home Science, Law, Education, and Physical Education.
