Quantum Matters | Arindam Ghosh | TEDxMAIS

Описание к видео Quantum Matters | Arindam Ghosh | TEDxMAIS

In this talk, Arindam Ghosh breaks down the principles of Quantum Mechanics, an otherwise inaccessible subject, in a light and engaging manner. He relates crucial developments and discoveries in the field to the context of our everyday lives and goes beyond, to show us the numerous possibilities that it opens up. Further, he emphasises on the necessity to teach Quantum Mechanics in schools and cultivate a scientific mindset from a very young age. Arindam is a physics researcher and professor based out of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has previously operated out of the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. His current research is centred around the application of nanotechnology: including the transport properties of two-dimensional electronic systems in semiconductors, carbon-based low-dimensional systems, optoelectronic
properties of atomically-thin semiconductor membranes, magnetic nanostructures, and structural stability of nanoscale systems such as metallic nanowires and nanoparticles. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
