This is not your regular Dhokla!
Here’s my kitchen-style 56 Ingredient Dhokla—made with a mix of dals, flours, masalas, veggies, seeds & lots of love.
It’s healthy, steamed, and full of flavor—perfect for monsoon cravings or anytime you want something filling but light!
Don’t worry if you don’t have all 56 ingredients—this recipe is super flexible. Just use whatever you have at home and enjoy the process.
Ingredients:-
Soaked Dals (1 tbsp each): soak 3 hours
Moong Dal, Chana Dal, Masoor Dal, Urad Dal, Mauth ka Mogar, Moong Mogar, Kali Dal, Rice
Flours:
Coarse Wheat Flour – 1.5 cup
Besan, Suji, Bajra, Makki, Ragi, Chana Mix, Jowar, Singhada, Rajgira – 1 tbsp each
Sukhe Masale & Spices:
Ajwain – ½ tsp
Jeera – ½ tsp
Coriander Seeds (Dhaniya) – 1tbsp
Kali Mirch (Black Pepper) – ½ tsp
Saunf – ½ tsp
Laung Powder – ¼ tsp
Podina (Dry Mint) – 1/2 tbsp
Kasuri Methi – 1/2 tbsp
Badi (Mongadi) – 1tbsp (crushed)
Powder Spices:
Red Chilli Powder, Garam Masala – 1 tsp each
Haldi, Pink Salt – ½ tsp each
Chilli Flakes – ½ tsp
Hing – ¼ tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Baking Soda – ½ tsp
Papad Khaar – ½ tsp
Regular Salt – to taste
Sesame Seeds:
Black Til – ½ tsp
White Til – ½ tsp
Veggies & Herbs:
Green Chillies – 2 (chopped)
Red Chillies – 2 (chopped)
Spring Onion – 2 tbsp
Palak – 2 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
Onion – 1 big (chopped)
Fresh Podina – few leaves
Curry Leaves – 5-6
Matar – 1/2 cup
Chopped Coriander
Other:
Oil – 2 tbsp
Water – as needed
Ghee – for greasing & serving
Red Chutney – for serving
Method: mix all the ingredients in a bowl and set it aside for 10 minutes and shape dhokla as shown in the video and steam in idli moulds for approx 20 minutes ( check with knife if it comes out clean).
