The Asian green bee-eater, also known as little green bee-eater, and green bee-eater in Sri Lanka, is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family. It is resident but prone to seasonal movements and is found widely distributed across Asia from coastal southern Iran east through the Indian subcontinent to Vietnam.

Though the Green Bee-eater likes to eat bees, it does consider other wasps, butterflies, dragonflies, and beetles.

Similar to honeybees, they're not aggressive and don't want to sting people. You might get stung if you accidentally disturb their nest in the ground or if a bee feels threatened.

The Asian green bee-eater is considered to be partially migrant. The exact movement pattern of Asian green bee-eater is not clear. The northmost populations move from their breeding grounds and migrate southwards for wintering. They also appear to make seasonal movements in response to rainfall.
