David danced before the Lord with all his might as the Ark entered Jerusalem. The most powerful man in Israel leaping and spinning in a linen ephod, looking foolish before the whole nation, because his audience was not the crowd but God Himself. Then he personally served food to every man and woman present. In the Gospel, Jesus redefines family, saying whoever does God's will is His brother and sister and mother. Both readings ask: What are you willing to look foolish for? And does your worship lead to service?
