I had a life changing experience that cannot be spoken in words... We visited a private christian school in a remote village of Karanse Tanzania where there are 381 students whose tuition is payed for through Project Child, a child sponsorship program. The first two days there we led two soccer camps where we presented team and life skills and the gospel through sport. The first day we ran the camp for the school. On the second day we moved the camp to a remote field and opened it up to the whole village! It was amazing watch kids of all ages pour in on a Saturday to play football with the Americans!

The next few days we visited homes of sponsored and unsponsored children/families. It was an eyeopening experience to see how different the two were. NIGHT AND DAY! Children who were taught those the private christian school were much more educated and spoke English while the non sponsored kids had poor direction, poor education and minimal English language training. I loved seeing the impact we can in the lives of these kids with just a dollar a day...

The next few days we spoke to a group of leaders and encouraged them to reach out to teenage kids who seemed to have been forgotten in that area. We then visited and spoke at a local church that was partnered with the school. We developed solid relationships and friendships with many of the leaders of the church. Three of which trekked up Kilimanjaro with us.

Project Child is a child sponsorship program that seeks to bring orphaned and impoverished Tanzanian children into a life transforming encounter with the Kingdom of God and give them hope and a future through sponsorships/scholarships. This is done through a combination child sponsorship and scholarship program providing spiritual, christian educational, economic, social and physical growth opportunities. Sponsored children are fed, educated, discipled, mentored, and loved from entrance into the program until they leave or graduate from the program. Partnerships between Imara, Tanzanian and International Churches implement the program within the development of a Christian school in the village.
