2 OPEN Scholarships For The Red Raiders

Tech Roster Outlook as of June 14th
2 scholarships open
If Tech does add another player expect Tech to prioritize length
Possibly another big (probably younger)
This roster could be a legit 10-11 deep

RC’s Take: It wouldn’t shock me if Texas Tech doesn’t add another player to the 2024-25 roster. That said, if they do, I would expect it to be a project big (maybe European) or someone that would redshirt this season.

The Big 12 Gauntlet Could Be Even Truer In 2024-25
We all know the Big 12 is the best basketball conference in America
We also know via reports that the Big 12 is planning on having 20 conference games this season with 2 games a week and no byes.
The talent in the Big 12 may be at its peak (so far)
7 Big 12 schools rank in the Top 27 according to 247Sports Portal Rankings (10 in the Top 50)
The Red Raiders currently have the 20th-best portal class
The reason I bring this up is with Coleman Hawkins committing to Kansas State, I think this could be the most talented the Big 12 conference has ever been
Sure adding 4 new teams helps, but think of the talent in this conference from a team perspective
You could make the case that 8 Big 12 teams should be in the preseason Top 25 and have 2nd weekend potential in the NCAA Tournament
Kansas, Houston, Iowa State, Baylor, Arizona, Texas Tech, Kansas State and Cincinnati
It wouldn’t shock me at all if any of those teams made the 2nd weekend and in fact, I think I would expect it from virtually all of them

RC’s Take: Texas Tech will be firmly in the mix with their portal additions and guys they kept on the roster from last year, but I truly think this could be the best the Big 12 has ever been as a basketball conference… and that’s saying something.
