🦁 Who is Vaali?

Vaali, also known as Bali, is the elder brother of Sugriva, born to the monkey king Riksharaja and blessed with extraordinary strength. He was a powerful Vanara king who once defeated even Ravana in battle and possessed a divine boon that made him invincible in one-on-one combat:

Whoever fought him face-to-face would lose half their strength to him, making him stronger with every blow.

🏯 Conflict with Sugriva

The turning point in their brotherhood came during a battle with a demon named Mayavi. Mayavi ran into a cave, and Vaali entered the cave to kill him, instructing Sugriva to wait outside. A year passed. Blood flowed out of the cave, and Sugriva believed Vaali was dead. Saddened and scared, Sugriva sealed the cave and returned to Kishkindha, where he was reluctantly crowned king.
