MAC & CHEESE POPS

Ingredients

2 cups boiled macaroni pasta
150 grams cheddar cheese
2 tbsps butter
2 tbsps refined flour (maida)
1 cup milk
Salt to taste
¼ cup bread crumbs + for coating
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves
Oil for deep frying

Method

1. To make sauce, heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add refined flour and cook for a minute or till the raw smell of the flour goes away.
2. Add milk little by little, whisking it continuously till a lump free mixture is formed. Cook till it thickens.
3. Grate the cheddar cheese and add into the sauce and mix well. Cook till the cheese melts.
4. Add macaroni pasta and salt and mix well. Take the pan off the heat and transfer the mixture into a large bowl and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or till cooled completely.
5. Add parsley leaves and mix well.
6. Spread sufficient bread crumbs on a plate, add salt and mix well.
7. Take a small portion of the mac and cheese mixture and shape it into a ball. Roll in the bread crumbs and dust off the excess.
8. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Gently slide in the balls a few at a time and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
9. Serve hot with dip of your choice.
