Disdain for the Jedi and the Force became ingrained in the Empire’s culture, and to replace the Jedi Order, Palpatine gathered Dark Side Adepts to fill the absence of Sith Lords and carry out his commands. However, under the Imperial Remnants, experienced veterans were promoted to Imperial officers, and hatred of the Jedi and the Force began to wane, as it was no longer mandated by law to despise the Jedi. These changes allowed for the rise of the Knights of the Empire, also known as Imperial Jedi. These Force-sensitive individuals rejected the dark side, dedicating themselves to the reigning Emperors of the Galactic Empire. Their existence more than a century after Palpatine’s death at Endor marked a stark departure from the Empire’s dark side origins.
