Lawrence Hart - First Light

First Light is from my Music For Dark Spaces EP.
I began writing the record at my previous studio - a dark, windowless space. During the writing, I relocated to a studio with large windows that fill the room with light.
It made me think a lot about the effect that an immediate environment has on both making music, and consuming it. I could sense huge differences between working in the two spaces and it seemed very fitting for music that can be heard on a dark dancefloor, or listened to on headphones in the sun.
This track, First Light, reminds me of that early-hours transition when leaving a dark club space, to emerge into the light of the early day.
