Creating Atmospheric Perspective In Adobe Photoshop Using The Z Depth Render Pass

Описание к видео Creating Atmospheric Perspective In Adobe Photoshop Using The Z Depth Render Pass

In this video, we're taking a look at how to create atmospheric perspective with the Z depth render pass. Dustin talks about various ways he likes to create atmospheric effects with the 3D render pass.

The word perspective describes the method that gives drawn or painted objects the appearance of depth and distance. In other words: perspective makes your paintings look three-dimensional. Atmospheric perspective, also called aerial perspective, is the effect the earth’s atmosphere has on the appearance of objects at the distance

Atmospheric perspective indicates that as an object recedes into the distance relative to the viewer, we see that object with reduced clarity, value, and color saturation. In addition, objects in the distance appear to have a relatively cool color temperature.

In this video, we will go into some more detail on what atmospheric perspective is and how you can use it to create the illusion of depth in your paintings.

You can simulate the effects of atmospheric perspective by using grayer and more neutral colors in the distance, and by mixing more blue into those objects further away. Keep the value contrast higher for objects in the foreground, and lower in the background.
