Foreword: I’ve been thinking about doing this video for years now but haven’t had the courage to put it out there. To be honest I am a bit embarrassed being financially independent and have run into a lot of skepticism on the topic. Financial independence is hard to explain to people so typically I don’t. Now I will have a video explaining how I became financialy independent, if people are interested in the topic. It typically doesn’t go over well explaining your finances at dinner parties or telling people you don’t have to work anymore if you don’t want to. I typically skirt questions regarding my work or just use my part time job to explain to people “what I do” for work. If I do explain financial independence to someone its most likely a close friend or family member and I am typically met with blank stares or quiet skepticism. I have come to an understanding that most people don’t think about finance as it relates to their every day lives. This is difficult for me since its such an important part of my life. The prospect of financial security, volunteering and extra time with family are three paramount things in my life. I have come to accept other peoples views and respect them but not at the expense of respecting myself. I guess this is why I am finally putting this video out. My only hope is that this video can help other people to find out more about financial freedom and somehow profit from it. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
