@ An American folk song that was handed down from mouth to mouth in the midst of the hardships of miners who flocked to the West with dreams of getting rich during the Gold Rush era. 1849 USA In the vast land of Western California, a frenzy of 'gold rush' occurred, and from 1849 to 1858, countless people were working to mine gold. The social and historical phenomenon of 1849, commonly referred to as the Forty-niners, is a pronoun referring to those who chase gold. Few people found gold, and only hardships lead to death. This nursery rhyme was adapted in Korea around 1919 by musician Park Tae-Kwon. It is known, but the historical meaning contained in the song disappears, and the lyrics of a children's song island house baby style are added instead. Lyrics from 1848 to 1855 Set in the background of the Gold Rush that occurred during the frontier days of the American West, a miner misses his daughter after he loses it to a flood. The fact that he changed from a miner to a fisherman during the adaptation process.

In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine
Dwelt a miner forty niner,
And his daughter Clementine

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
Oh my darling, Clementine!
You are lost and gone forever
Dreadful sorry, Clementine

Light she was and like a fairy,
And her shoes were number nine,
Herring boxes, without topses,
Sandals were for Clementine.

Drove she ducklings to the water
Ev'ry morning just at nine,
Hit her foot against a splinter,
Fell into the foaming brine.

Ruby lips above the water,
Blowing bubbles, soft and fine,
But, alas, I was no swimmer,
So I lost my Clementine.

How I missed her! How I missed her,
How I missed my Clementine,
Till I kissed her little sister,
I forgot my Clementine.
