Amal Allana, theatre director and former head of the National School of Drama (NSD) speaks to us while setting up a retrospective on the life and works of her father Ebrahim Alkazi. She's putting up the exhibit—The Theatre of E. Alkazi - A Modernist Approach To Indian Theatre — along with her husband and stage designer Nissar Allana.
Alkazi, now 90, is one of NSD's longest serving directors. He is known for revamping the institution and for nurturing India's finest acting talent, having trained actors like Anupam Kher, Nadeera Babbar, Naseeruddin Shah, and Om Puri.
