An Ocular Prosthesis is a device fitted for your eye socket that is reconnected for eye movement. A Corneal Scleral Shell is made to fit over a Blind Eye and is a harder fit because it must be so accurate.
In an Ocular Prosthesis a surgeon reconnects the rectus muscle to restore movement. After the patient heals, they can be fitted by an Ocularist.
A Corneal Scleral Shell is not for everyone. Ongoing pain of the eye rules out many candidates. A trial shell is offered to wear for a stint to see if it is right. The shell is very thin and harder to fit.
