~ A big story with such little space...they were formed out of two local bands in '66 in missoula montana and were named 'the chosen few' and recording the first of two singles in that same year at 'the house of sound studios' in butte for the 'bfd label' - you've been a long time coming/i once asked...a great start for the band who relocated to san francisco late '67 but the second release two years later 'mind disaster/it's not easy' bfd label again was even better and here i feature its rare b-side showing a heavy folkrock-psych style that wowed audiences at the ballrooms of san francisco....the band were : mojo collins/steve garr/brian knaff & george wallace...seemily playing anywhere and everywhere they just didn't find that record label willing to sign them for some reason...in wallace they had one of the scene's best guitarist and lucky for us four tracks surfaced several years back of a performance at the avalon ballroom '68....with drug & personal problems hurting the band they split late '69 with knaff/wallace & road manager george crowe forming 'yellowstone' and releasing three fine singles...collins went into 'sawbuck' and knaff got involved with the new avalon ballroom then later later forming one of the top booking/concert promotion company's in the u.s. 'talent booking network'...a real shame for such a promising band who were extremely popular around the city and bay area's...
