Karl Shefelman is a writer/director based in New York. His debut feature film, “LOOKING FOR THE JACKALOPE”, won both Jury and Audience Awards for Best U.S. Feature at the 2017 Austin Revolution Film Festival. Distributed by Indie Rights Movies, it is now available on Amazon and many other platforms. Karl is developing his second feature film project, "THE GOLD PORSCHE ROBBERIES", based on a true crime story set in Karl's hometown of Austin, Texas. Another screenplay, “THE HUNTERS”, was a Semifinalist in the 2015 Nicholl Fellowships Screenplay Competition and a TOP 50 SCRIPT. Karl has also written and directed several short films, winning awards at various film festivals. In addition, Karl has worked as a storyboard artist for numerous A-list directors including Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, and Ridley Scott. He was born and raised in Austin, Texas before moving to New York.
