Rare footage of a young 50 Cent spitting a freestyle in 1999 which he would end up using as the opening verse his very impactful song “Ghetto Quran”

50 had been spitting these rhymes in multiple freestyles & songs for 2 years before “Ghetto Quran” even existed. Everyone in Queens had had already heard the “controversial” bars long before and majority of those mentioned viewed this as 50 paying homage, the “snitch” allegations have never been accurate. Preme himself has said he didn’t have a problem with the song.

There isn’t one single song in particular that led to 50’s altercation, but if there was it would be a freestyle he did in response to the Hit Factory incident on a local queens mixtape. It’s not just a coincidence he was hit 2 days after it dropped. Unknown by almost everybody, 50 was talking crazy and took some pretty significant shots directly at Ja Rule and Preme. The crew that put the mixtape together even cut out some of his bars and an entire other verse in hopes of protecting 50 from possible repercussions. Unfortunately that didn’t help and two days later his life was changed forever.

Just wanted to share that short history lesson.
