The #1 Mistake Young Basketball Players Make

In this video I want to talk about a mistake I see being made by young players as they go about their basketball journey. It is a mistake I often made, and one that can be solved with a simple shift in mindset.

Last summer, I spoke to the current basketball team at my high school. I started out my incredible speech with a simple question. How many of you want to play college basketball? I expected this to get the players interested. That they would all raise their hand and get to learn what it takes from a successful college basketball player.

But now I think that was the wrong question. If I could have a do over, I would have changed my question just slightly. I would have asked them, how many of you love playing basketball?
