Описание к видео Who Lives Here - Charles Hamilton Houston - Segregation - Civil Rights Movement - Jim Crow Laws

The Segregation Era is defined by the cases won by Charles Hamilton Houston and the lawyers and judges who followed his lead. Delve deeper into the legacy of this Washington-based litigator, and his relentless efforts in dismantling the oppressive system of Jim Crow.

"Who Lives Here: A Case for Equal Space" is a series of short, educational videos made by the DC History Center and Briana Thomas. They were created as a way to inform and educate our audiences about the intersection of systemic racism and real estate. In the series, we highlight pioneering Washingtonians whose dedicated work and activism advanced access to “equal space” for Americans of color—in the District and nationwide.
