Today’s companies pride themselves on innovation, and yet many employees tend to abandon their creative ideas before they’ve even started to pursue them! In their personal lives, many individuals also want to write or play guitar or do stand-up comedy but they’re plagued with uncertainties. What if instead of doubting their impulses, people could learn to tap into their creative motivations? This talk introduces a new model of creativity—the 5 Creative Types—and explores how it can help individuals and companies reach their creative potential. A creative “type” is someone’s artistic personality, and it reflects what most motivates them to do anything creative. The 5 Creative Types are: A-Lister, Artisan, Game Changer, Sensitive Soul, and Activist. Meta’s goal in this talk is to help people recognize the creativity within, identify their creative personality type, and learn how to maximize the positive traits of their type and tame some tendencies. The talk also allows managers and employees to see how each type can contribute—individually and in collaboration—to the overall success of their workplace.
