About the piece:
Embers Above (2022) is a duet written for 5-octave marimba and piano and is aimed at intermediate to advanced players, from high school to collegiate level. Not to be mistaken for a piece for marimba and piano accompaniment, this duet involves both the marimba and piano equally, where the role of accompaniment and lead are traded between the two players throughout the piece. Neither parts are particularly challenging technically, and the piano part requires basic piano proficiency (ABRSM Grade 5).
