MAESTRO FRESH WES: CANADIAN HALL OF FAME INDUCTION (AT THE JUNOS 2024)

What a BIG historical moment in Canadian Hip Hop! Maestro Fresh Wes Aka "The Rap Prime
Minister", aka "The Godfather" of Canadian Hip Hop, finally received his well deserved induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame! He's the first Rap Artist to receive this prestigious recognition at The Juno Awards 53rd ceremony. This is another first, of his many accomplishments. Maestro was the first Juno Award winner in the Rap Recording of the Year category, for his hit single "Let Your Backbone Slide" in 1991. This appears to be a full circle moment, as he continues to break records, and set the influential tone. Not only has he made a difference in the lives of others, he continues to assist in changing mainstream media's views, and trajectory. He's also a Father, Author, Actor, Host, and "Chef Wes". Most recently, he established his own Scholarship, at Nova Scotia Community College. It's called the Maestro Fresh Wes Scholarship. Geared to helping Black youth interested in skilled trades. After all is said and done, his legacy continues, and he's "STILL WINNING!" (Which is also the title, of one of his most recent singles.)
