Описание к видео Thrown on a Bad Day — Can I Still Make It Work?

In this Sunday's video, I'm finally finishing off an angular vase you may have watched me throw and trim a number of months ago now. It's a simple shape, fundamentally, yet it was thrown on a bad day when nothing seemed to go well. Yet, in those instances, sometimes it's worth getting SOMETHING successfully off the wheel, so I threw a thickly walled vase, balanced, yet strong, which I knew would need rather a lot of trimming to get it back to a point where I was happy with it.

Following this, the vase is biscuit fired, waxed, coated in a thick layer of white feldspathic crackle glaze and finally reduction fired to cone ten, some 1290ºC. It's about as minimal as my work gets, and as discussed, I struggle with scaling work up due to the lack of interest in the glazes surface as features such as droplets of metal, iron, and other irregularities, become lost in a larger expanse of uniform glaze.

Thanks so much for watching!
