Hand Physics Lab | Oculus Quest 2 Review

Описание к видео Hand Physics Lab | Oculus Quest 2 Review

I love hand tracking as a neat gaming option, but unfortunately it can be very hit or miss on the Oculus Quest headsets. I have had a great time checking out experiences available on SideQuest and a couple options on the main storefront like waltz of the wizard, using the Quest UI, and virtual desktop. But its not like anything was flawless even with good room contrast and lighting.

I feel as though my time with Hand Physics Lab was at times a lot of fun and at other times frustrating and annoying. Thankfully you can use a controller if you get stuck on any puzzle so it doesn't really feel like there are any major road blocks halting progression. Over 80 puzzles with some being simple press a button to others involving a lot more complexity playing catch with a clone of yourself, driving a car, painting eggs, smashing glass, climbing, etc...

Some tips I can give is that contrast in your room is important, that means stuff on the walls. Lighting helps a bit but as long as you have relatively decent lighting it didn't make enough of a difference I could really tell throughout all my testing with IR illuminator, black lights, and even bigger lights like the kind I use to record my videos.

But at the end of the day Hand tracking isn't perfect, and this game has janky elements that will frustrate you. If you can accept these things and look past them then its a fantastic showcase of what the future could bring with this technology and the small price tag is hardly going to break the bank. I also want to point out there is a road map to add things in, and some of the stuff I experienced on the older version with SideQuest is absent here currently.
