Relieving Neck Spasm, the MAT Way!

Описание к видео Relieving Neck Spasm, the MAT Way!

In this video clip from my MOTION IS LOTION MAT E-Course and Home Study, I demonstrate a Myoskeletal Alignment Technique for O-A and atlas axis assessment. The goal of Myoskeletal Alignment is to level the base and get good alignment with the occiput.

Check for hypermobility. Keep the chin tucked and make sure the head doesn't drop, it has to be straight in order to rotate it around that axis in the right way. Rotate the head left and right and ask them to turn their eyes in the direction you are moving their head. Make sure it's going to 45 degrees. Feel for the atlas-axis barrier, which is a bone-on-bone barrier. Take the head there without strain. Keep your elbows out to have a good grip and motion range for the head. Turn your body as you do this. This is suboccipital work - not joint work. Decompress by elongating the neck.
