Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal together boast approximately 44% of all registered voters in this year's national and provincial elections.

As the results have started to slowly trickle in, and vote counting is continuing today, all eyes will be on what happens here at the National Results Operations Centre in Midrand.

The Independent Electoral Commission will have seven days to announce the results.

To talk more about what these results could mean for the country, we are joined by, senior lecturer Dr Sithembile Mbete, political analyst Dr Ongama Mtimka and Prof Pravesh Debba, CSIR Manager Spatial Planning.
