JHELA is a trans woman from the Philippines. She transitioned two years ago. Just under nine months ago, Jhela matched with Juno on Facebook dating; they both openly admit they met up in a hotel for nothing but fun and what they both assumed would be a one night stand... Juno knew that Jhela was trans and had said to her that he didn't want to have a relationship with her because she is a trans woman and he was scared about the stigma. Juno considers himself a straight Cis man and says he “wasn't sure” at the start because of Jhela’s new gender identity. However, they both say that the first night they met they did have fun together, but also shared an unexpected connection on a deeper level and spent every day of the next two weeks together. They went on romantic dates rather than just meeting in a hotel and enjoyed getting to know each other. After two weeks, Jhela gave Juno an ultimatum; she wanted to be able to label their relationship as something real so told Juno to either make it official with her or it's over! Juno wanted to experience love and asked Jhela to be his girlfriend officially and they moved in together just a couple of weeks later. The couple face judgement online; people have trolled Jhel warning her Juno will get bored and leave her for a biological woman so he can become a father. People online have accused Jhela of love bombing and gaslighting Juno to be with her, she denies this and says she treats him better than other women have.
