Communal violence and clashes erupted when a land dispute between two groups took a violent turn in Karedi village in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district on Wednesday. At least three people, including a policeman, were injured. As news of the clash spread in the village, an angry mob went on a vandalism spree, torching shops and houses. Two police personnel were injured and were referred to an Indore hospital, they are in critical condition and have been admitted in ICU. Miscreants shattered the glass of a police vehicle and the Khilchipur SDM’s car. Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the mob and called for back-up. In the wake of the violence, heavy police deployment was seen in Karedi on Thursday.
