Magnum vs Special

In this "basics" video I illustrate the difference between Magnum and Special cartridges, such as the .44 Magnum vs .44 Special and .357 Magnum vs .38 Special. What is actually the difference?
You might not have to be a new shooter to be a little confused about this if you don't happen to have revolvers that fire these cartridges.
