I think it's a fairly common assumption that to play fast, and especially with legato technique, guitarists are best off with a low action and light strings. Actually, guitar setup is a pretty personal thing, and for me, I find legato totally fine with guitars set up with a medium action and 10 or 11 gauge strings. So here's a video about my own personal preferences for set up, pickup height and all that stuff, in case you wondered....What are your preferences?
