For this video I used geometry nodes to create a 400 by 400 grid. I instanced cubes on each vertex in this grid and then used the brightness of each point in a number of video files (using image texture nodes) to set the height and size of each cube at that position in each frame. I added some random noise to the overall height to give it a more organic feel.
The rest of the work was focussed on camera movement, focal point, basic shader colouring and setting how the various videos merge together (just basic keyframed mix nodes).

The geometric pattern seen at the beginning and the throughout the animation was another video file but was created using the processing programming language. I created this video a few years ago and was pleased how well it renders using the point cloud method described above.

Soundscape was created using two Moog Mother-32 synthesizers, patched together plus added reverb and delay effects.
