At present, because of coronavirus pandemic, the students of Photinus school in Ukraine work online in cooperation with their teachers. as a result, the virtual performance environment project appeared.

This multistage project is a web environment based on Shukhliada*. In order to keep contact with one another and continue artistic activities together, students and teachers created an online space for performative collaboration where everyone becomes a part of a single “body” / collective character that takes variety of forms in accordance with environment and tasks. The plot of the first performance "out of body experience" is a journey of that collective character to the sea.

The project will be processed thanks to the algorithm that provides interconnection between certain physical actions or sequence of performers’ actions and virtual objects by which the performers are represented in the web environment.

Within the "solidarity and agency" exhibition we will first present a video based on the initial effects of the project which is still on the stage of its ongoing realization. After the online implementation of the performance – which will take place after the exhibition's opening on the photinus.shukhliada.com – the project will be presented on that website in the form of video documentation.

Lera Polianskova, Max Robotov and Ivan Svitlychnyi are ukrainian artists who live and work in Kyiv. In addition to their main joint and individual artistic practice, they run Shukhliada exposition environment, the platform for independent curatorial projects implemented on the internet, and Photinus School – the educational programme for a group of students targeted at developing new media art in the ukrainian art environment. Currently, students of Photinus School work online.
