Kalahari Series - Final Episode

After fifteen incredible days on the road exploring the wide, wild Northern Cape, it was finally time to start the long drive home to KZN, but not before one last bucket-list stop: Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

Leaving Bloemfontein at sunrise, we made our way through the Free State hills. Stopping for brunch at Constantia Cherry Farm Stall outside Ficksburg (trust us, worth the detour).

As the landscape shifted from farmlands to glowing mountains, we reached Glen Reenen Rest Camp, where we spent one peaceful night in a rondavel, surrounded by golden cliffs. Between a visit to Clarens, a relaxed afternoon at Highland Brew and one last campfire under the stars, this leg of the journey was pure soul food.

The next morning we braved the cold for an early visit to the brand-new Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Centre before waving our goodbyes to the golden mountains and heading home.

After 15 nights, 4,400 km and countless memories later. The caravan is parked for now… until the next adventure calls.
