Highlighting artifacts on display in the Mormon Trails exhibit at the Church History Museum, historian and educator Tiffany Taylor Bowles shares personal stories from the lives of Green Flake, one of Utah’s first black pioneers, Jean Rio Baker, a British widow traveling across the Atlantic with her young family, and Niels and Margarethe Nielsen, a Danish family escaping religious persecution.

Tiffany Taylor Bowles is an associate curator of education at the Church History Museum. She is an outstanding storyteller and enjoys weaving real-life experiences of pioneers into her education programs. As a former park ranger at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and as an experienced historic home interpreter and museum professional, she understands the importance of the personal story and how it enlivens historical facts with meaning and connections to modern life.
