More info: As the sun's position in the sky is changing throughout the year there are a couple of very narrow windows of opportunity to see it cross the Eiffel Tower in this manner from this vantage point. It is only during the late winter when there are two windows of time when this happens. The first as the sun's setting position on the horizon moves towards the left-most possible location at winter solstice where it sets completely to the left of the Eiffel Tower and the second when the sun's setting position moves away from the winter solstice position towards the right-most summer solstice position. In order to capture a sequence like this from this vantage point one has to be somewhat fortunate to have good weather during the two brief windows of opportunity.
