Ansys Fluent: Dynamic simulation of the extent of hazardous area

In areas where dangerous quantities and concentrations of flammable gas or vapor may arise, measures need to be applied in order to reduce the risk of explosions.

The release rate of a flammable substance is the most important factor that affects the extent of an area.

The characteristic of any release depends upon the physical state of the flammable substance. The physical states include:
a gas, which may be at an elevated temperature or pressure
a gas liquefied by the application of pressure, e.g. LPG
a gas which can only be liquefied by refrigeration, e.g. methane
a liquid with an associated release of flammable vapor

In this video, the extent of hazardous area is simulated using Ansys Fluent. We consider the case of leakage of a flammable gas in jet form.
