Stockholm Chamber Brass (SCB) was founded in 1988 by five young Swedes and since winning the Narbonne International Competition for Brass Quintets later that year has gone on to have an over 30 year career as one of the leading Brass Ensembles in the world!

SCB have always been committed to developing new and original repertoire for brass quintet. They have now commissioned over 60 compositions, many of which have gone on to become the most frequently performed original works for brass quintet around the world. Notable composers to write for the group include Anders Hillborg, Sven David Sandström, Eino Tamberg and Piers Hellawell.

The quintet also arrange many work for brass, many of which are now available to purchase through their website www.stockholmchamberbrass.com.

To date, the ensemble has recorded 6 critically acclaimed CDs including the classics of the quintet genre, to a CD of commissions and their most recent album THEN, a collection of songs and dances from the renaissance era.
