Dora's Story

Dora is a Belgian Draft horse that was intercepted from auction by Horse Plus in the April Buy Out Mission. We were told that she had a tracheostomy, but appeared healthy. When she stepped off the trailer, it was apparent that the trach was grossly infected. So, our veterinarians scheduled an immediate surgery date and successfully removed the tracheostomy. After confirming Dora could breathe normally without it, the hole was sewn together. After completing her quarantine, riding evaluation, and farrier appointment, Dora was approved for adoption!
