In this video, I'm diving into a fun model kit project featuring some awesome American model cars. Specifically, I'm focusing on building the Revell 1970 Plymouth Duster Funny Car, kit number 14528. It's a bit of a challenge at level 4 complexity, but it's all part of the adventure. Plus, it comes in a cool 1:24 scale.

I start by replicating the colors from the box artwork, using a grey primer (Mr. Hobby 1500 primer) as the base. I then apply a layer of Tamiya semi-black X-18 to cover the black sections of the car and create a foundation for the metallic color. The metallic red (Mr. Hobby GX 202) is applied with a coat of Tamiya clear red X-27 for vibrancy. A clear coat (GX112) is added to protect the finish.

The Revell kit includes a vintage-inspired hot rod with various features like a fire-themed decal sheet, a supercharged 426 HEMI engine, and "zoomie" exhaust headers. I also discuss the preparation of the car body, sanding, priming, and painting.
