Built in 1924 this was a high quality care facility in Boyle Heights, California
Around 1980 the hospital, as a cost cutting measure, lowered its standard of care. The death rate of patients increased. Because of an unacceptable fatality rate and rumored mistreatment of patients, the hospital closed in 1991. 20 years of being derelict is apparent. The building is now one of the top sought out locations for paranormal investigations. However standard tours are not given. Only exclusive entry is occasionally granted.
To announce the release of American Horror Story's second season "Asylum" in Blu-ray, Fox Home Entertainment rented the building and invited guests. Art work was created to make the building look more like the one in the series. Stars from the show told stories. The guests were locked into part of the building to solve spooky clues before they were allowed to leave. The party was loud enough to wake the dead! It lasted until early morning as the contestants finished their tasks. #asylumsleepover #ahs #ahsfx
When the guests started to leave, it got dark and creepy

Then ... at 3:30 AM as security was doing the final sweep of the building, our person was given exclusive permission to explore the closed off areas. Unescorted, no map, by himself. But only given 20 minutes. The video is rushed to capture everything. This is the unedited raw film, some parts are dark, there was no time to be artistic.
