Vigan city is known as a well-preserved Spanish Colonial town listed by UNESCO. You will particularly love Vigan’s Calle Crisologo. They have so much delicious food and delicacies that in this episode of Buhay ProbinZSA, we wouldn’t miss to make or try. And we will get to visit other historical tourist spots!

Gov “Manong” Chavit Singson hosted our stay in Ilocos Sur so we started off with a hearty Filipino breakfast with of course, their famous Vigan Longanisa. What made breakfast interesting was that we shared it with his pet deers! I was also introduced to miniature horses in the property.

For our first day, we got to spend more time deer watching. We set up a picnic and I tried their local dessert namely, Patupat and Tinubong.

We visited a bagnet-making place and it’s pretty interesting how much preparation is needed to make this special Ilocano dish. But we will show you how it’s done!

On our second day In Vigan, we tried activities such as pottery making and also their traditional loom weaving. What a fun morning that was!

We visited the famous Pinakbet Farm to harvest vegetables to cook for lunch! We made three famous Ilocano dishes namely, Pinakbet, Dinengdeng and Poqui Poqui.

And because we wanted to show you guys more, we also visited San Idelfonso City to try their famous “hole in the wall” bulaluhan!

Have you visited the famous Syquia Mansion Museum? This is where I learned some famous facts and even “chismis” about President Elpidio Quirino and his wife Alicia. Especially the time when they were still courting! I even got to read some of their love letters- all preserved in a book! They were such romantics.

For all the street food lovers, we couldn’t pass on the opportunity to cook… and of course, taste their famous Vigan Empanada.
